Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus, spraying for adult mosquitoes tonight, Wednesday July 17, 2019 between 9:00 PM and 12:30 AM. A sample of Culex mosquitoes collected from the area have tested positive for West Nile virus.
The District will be making an application targeted for adult mosquito control with ultra-low volume (ULV) applications of registered insecticides to reduce the number of adult mosquitoes in the area where the mosquitoes were collected. See attached map to view the treatment area or visit the interactive adult control map on the District website to search for your address to see if the application will be made on your street. Not all streets will be treated.
You do not need to leave an area when truck spraying for mosquito control takes place. If you prefer to stay inside and close windows and doors when spraying takes place you can, but it is not necessary. If you are having any type of health problems after spraying, contact your doctor or healthcare provider. The spray does not harm pets, but you may choose to bring them inside when spraying occurs. See the CDC fact sheet for more information.
Please protect yourself and your loved ones by using insect repellent when outdoors.
