March 2019 Update

Dear Member:

Del Walker

It is with sadness that we share the passing of our friend and neighbor Del Walker on April 1 after a two year battle with cancer. Del and Susan have lived on the 5th fairway since the early 2000's and have been large supporters of the neighborhood and Belmont Country Club, Del serving on the Board and Susan assisting with the clubhouse during the great recession. A Celebration of Life for all of his friends and family will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, April 13th at Belmont Country Club.

Thefts in the Neighborhood

In the early morning hours of April 5, thieves came into Sanders Court and smashed a window to steal a bag from a parked car in front of Wanda Bingham's. They also entered a garage door at the Plewinski's taking two bicycles and other items.
Please be aware and report suspicious persons in the neighborhood. Lighting is an effective deterrent against vandals and thieves. Let's keep our yard lights on. Motion sensing lights are also a good for areas that do not need to be lighted at all times.

2019 Annual Membership Meeting

Thank you to all who attended the 2019 Belmont Water Corporation Annual Membership Meeting.  It was the best attended meeting in recent memory.  In addition to our friends and neighbors, Steve Lee, president of Belmont Country Club attended.  Nearly half of all Belmont Water Corporation members are also Belmont Country Club Members.
Henry Liang and Stefonos Word, engineers with MKN Associates, presented a proposal to create a pilot program for Point of Entry filtration for the removal of 1,2,3-TCP from our water supply.

March Weather

March was lovely month with normal moderate temperatures and near normal rain. The 1.26 inches of rain kept us near normal for the year and orchard blossoms popping out.

Watering Rules

Please water only three days per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Change your sprinkler controller seasonal setting to 60%.

Water Conservation

Water usage for the month was up from February to 17,200 gallons per household. It was 32% better than the target and 41% better than last year. Usage for the first quarter 2019 was the lowest since the meter installation in 2011.  Click here for a larger view.

1,2,3-TCP Mitigation

We have still have no news to communicate on a trust agreement with Belmont Country Club on the transfer of the settlement funds to a trust account.

If you have any questions, please call Nic Pope or Mike Emigh.
